But not everyone has her talent for making magical holidays with the perfect cookie swap baskets, effortless gourmet dinners, and from-scratch cinnamon rolls in the morning. Rise and Shine with These Reno Restaurants
Two Chicks is offering a Christmas morning feast (
available by pre-order only) that includes two of the following take-and-bake breakfasts that will feed six to eight people: grilled cheese Strada take and bake, biscuit and gravy take and bake, cinnamon roll French toast take and bake with cream cheese frosting, or pumpkin French toast take and bake. The feast also includes one cocktail kit, choose from Mimosas or Bloody Marys, one pound of Two Chicks coffee-spiced candied bacon, and one pound of Two Chicks blend whole bean coffee. Pre-orders must be made by December 16, and guests must be 21 to pick up alcohol.
Perenn Bakery is offering bake-at-home croissant cinnamon rolls with brown butter icing for six, bake-at-home citrus brown butter baked croissant French toast for six to eight, carbonara quiche for six, and slow-cooked onion and gruyere quiche for six for breakfast. Pre-orders must be placed by December 16. Pastry add-ons are available as well.
Something Savory, Something Sweet, Something From Sparks
BJ’s Nevada Barbecue Company in Sparks likely has an amazing Christmas special in the works but also specializes in a three-meat feast (pork ribs, barbecue chicken, pulled pork, hot links, meatloaf or brisket), side dishes like hand-cut fries, barbecue beans, dirty rice, barbecue macaroni salad, macaroni and cheese, cheddar grits, potato salad, coleslaw, cornbread, applesauce, sweet potato crunch or soup.
Blend Catering is offering holiday meals through the end of the year for Christmas and New Year’s gatherings. There are six family-style menu options, which all include a baked brie appetizer, assorted rolls and butter, and bourbon apple crisp with salted caramel for dessert. Options include roast turkey with citrus herb gravy and orange cranberry sauce, prime rib with horseradish cream sauce and red wine jus, bone-in pork loin with fennel, orange and pickled mustard seed gravy, whole-roasted salmon with lemon caper brown butter, whole roasted chicken with marsala mushrooms and herbs and whole-roasted short ribs with red wine caramel. Carolina Kitchen & Barbecue is offering holiday catering through December 24. Think whole turkeys (smoked, deep-fried, or roasted) or roast sliced turkey by the pound, holiday side dishes like sage stuffing, mashed potatoes, giblet gravy, green beans with bacon, roasted sweet potatoes, and macaroni and cheese; holiday pies and peach cobbler.
El Adobe Cafe offers family-style dinners for four, six, or eight, such as various enchiladas (chicken, carnitas beef), fish/shrimp tacos, chimichangas, and beef and chicken fajitas. All items come with beans and rice, chips, salsa, and sour cream. If you celebrate Christmas Eve with tamales, the restaurant will be offering chicken and pork tamales, which can be special ordered by calling 775-327-4422. The restaurant plans to close early on December 24, so make sure to call ahead to order.
Hömage Bakery offers a holiday menu featuring pies for pickup through December 24, including flavors such as Dutch apple, cherry cheesecake, brown butter bourbon pecan, walnut turtle fudge and fruits of the forest.

25 Days of Cookies promotion where you can try a different cookie every day of December. It’s also offering quiche, breakfast bake, coffeecakes, iced cinnamon rolls and other breakfast goodies for Christmas.
Napa-Sonoma South is offering Christmas Eve dinner to-go for six. Orders must be placed by 5 p.m. December 16 at 775-440-1214. Options are Certified Angus Beef prime rib (cooked medium-rare) or spiral honey ham with house salad, dinner rolls, garlic mashed potatoes, roasted mixed vegetables and apple or berry pie.
Perenn Bakery is offering prepared Christmas dinners for 4-6 featuring sourdough polenta rosemary loaf with salted brown butter, arugula salad with marinated feta, pomegranate pearls, toasted pepitas and citrus vinaigrette; herb-crusted lamb OR ribeye roast with creamy scallion horseradish sauce; sweet spice-roasted squash with crushed hazelnuts, sage and crème fraîche OR thyme crème fraîche mashed potatoes; garlic and parmesan creamed spinach OR roasted cauliflower with Italian salsa verde; and sticky toffee croissant bread pudding with salted caramel.
Dinners are limited and must be placed by December 16.
Additionally, Perenn will donate a full holiday meal for each package purchased to seniors who are part of the National Commodity Supplemental Food Program Association, which is an extension of the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.
