Here are a few ideas...
- Pay down your debt.
- Fix or improve something in your home.
- Save it.
- Learn something.
- Set up an emergency fund.
- Buy something with staying power.
- Boost the energy effeciency of your home.
- Buy a new computer.
- Invest it.
- Or if you are able, donate it to a local charity.
Everyone is talking about how they are going to spend their stimulus money, and all the retailers are running ads trying to get you to spend it with them.
Here is my commercial - As a REALTOR I am advocating investing it in real estate. There has not been a better time to buy real estate in years. If you are a first time buyer there are options out there for you to combine that stimulus money with a contribution from the seller or a down payment assistance program and buyer yourself a home. What better way to stimulate the American economy than by achieving the American Dream of home ownership.
