Carson City Region
Nevada’s capitol city along with its neighboring communities combines the best in small town charm with a distinctive Victorian feel. Where the culture and history of the Old West meet, the region is surrounded by historic sightseeing and recreation, including many of the finest golf courses that are open year round, restaurants, shopping and casino gaming. The area still offers many reasonably priced homes, some more than 100 years old, all in the beautiful foothills of the Sierra Nevada.
To the east and north lies Dayton and Virginia City, and just south of Carson City lies the Carson Valley of Minden, Gardnerville and Genoa. The Carson Valley offers spectacular views, larger lots and awesome sunsets all year round. Heavenly Valley ski area (Nevada side) is less than 30 minutes away and Kirkwood ski area is about 45 minutes away. Several townships link the north and south ends of the Carson Valley from Topaz Lake to Carson City. Along the way you will find many nice subdivisions scattered throughout. Most every location has a nice view of the mountains and/or valley and offers either rural seclusion with a country feel or close-knit neighborhoods near in-town conveniences. There’s even a small airport located in Minden.
