When the Crystal Bay Developmental Company began planning for the community of Incline Village in 1962, they planned certain amenities for the residents of Incline Village. In an attempt to retain green space, government agencies own part of the 9,000 acres that make up Incline Village.  Approximately 8,000 residents live in Incline permanently, while others escape to Incline to avoid hot summers or to enjoy the beautiful white winters that Tahoe has to offer. Security is a major amenity that Incline Village has to offer its residents. During the day there is a gated entrance that is open to allow guests and golfers to enter; however, at night the gate is closed allowing only residents with an opener to enter.  Incline Village also offers all levels of education, including one elementary, one middle and one high school, as well as a four-year private college. There are two Robert Trent Jones, Jr. golf courses available to the residents of Incline along with Diamond Peak Ski Resort that offers all levels of skiing. In the summer, residents enjoy two private beaches that have a total of 2,400 feet of lake access and a boat launch. Among the amenities listed above, Incline Village also offers these amenities to the residents:

• Tennis Complex complete with seven tennis courts
• Recreation Center with indoor basketball/soccer courts, swimming pool, fitness center, gymnasium, aerobics/dance studio, and a child-care facility
• Chateau Community Building available for rent for dances, parties, receptions, conventions, etc.
• Aspen Grove- a picnic and barbeque area
• Washoe County Library- complete with a computerized ordering system which provides access to all publications in Washoe County Library System
• Exercise Court- A one mile, 18-station, exercise course on Lakeshore Boulevard overlooking the lake
• Bike and Pedestrians Paths- 16 miles of bike paths and a 5' to 10' wide pedestrian path

• Incline Athletic Club for Nautilus and Racquetball
