Carson City was confirmed as Nevada's permanent capital with statehood in 1864 with mining providing most of its economic importance as a freight and staging center until they began to decline in the 1880’s.  This capitol city provides a unique combination of small town charm with both a Victorian feel and an Old West flavor. With its frontier architecture and numerous historical attractions, Carson City is attracts visitors all year long.

Surrounded by the beauty of the Sierras, Carson City offers historic sightseeing as well as outdoor recreation with many great golf courses. Moreover, the numerous choices in restaurants, shopping and casino gaming allows all to enjoy this great city. Despite all this, Carson City is still very affordable with many well priced homes, some more than 100 years old, all in the beautiful foothills of the Sierra Nevada.
